If you mean in general, I will tag xea989 to move this to the tech board for you. It allows you to get a summary of updates from a website. If a forum allows it, you might get a list in plain text of new posts.

While not on ProBoards, it's a simple way to see updates. If you use it on a news site, you might get a list of headlines.

You can get a quick overview of a website's updates, possibly news articles, possibly emails, possibly new threads.

I set up one in a browser once for word of the day, but it ended up spamming me with new vocab words every 15 minutes. Woops.

It's supposed to be an organized way to get updates on a site, but some get really invasive and messy.

Last time I tried this was on a forum that's long closed and I didn't like what it did to my browser. It seemed spammy. It's not for everyone.

Google killed off the RSS market many years ago. The tech still exists but it's almost easier just to use email subscriptions now.
