Board Suggestion: Business & Finance

Finances is similar. Game stops short squeeze, in my mind, belongs in world report, possibly the life board if someone was apart or it and speaking on their experiences in relationship to it.

I follow a few finance forums personally, so it’s definitely something that’s interesting to me. However, this is a general chat forum and I’ve never felt unable to talk about any particular topic within the boards already in existence.

And, I don’t think any pros could outweigh the cons of Christina having that much extra work on her hands.

Edited to add: I think having it as BOTM however is a wonderful idea.

I think I agree with basically all of this. I feel like there's pretty much a home for everything as is, and I don't think business and finance currently have enough topics in our little world to warrant a board to themselves. Maybe the benefit would be getting more topics on those subjects I guess? But, I wouldn't think it's worth the work of totally restructuring, given if Christina wouldn't do it without moving all existing topics over there. I'm not as ironclad on having to have things be symmetrical or having to move everything if you create a new board, but it's not my forum

I don't see how an entire board with be needed given that these topics are already covered in other boards. HOWEVER, I support a month of BOTM topics to see if/how much interest there is in the topic. Then at the end of March, we go from there.

Hey Panik. I miss you and your streams. I don't know if this forum is big enough for that. Maybe? I think I need to see it in motion before I decide. I haven't seen financial threads bloating any other boards. There's the one ongoing stock thread and news threads seem fine in World Report. Let's see it in motion! Hope you log in all through March and show us the dealio.

To anyone who thinks the admin is a "stickler" that's far from the case. A lot of boards were changed over time, and things happened or were created/removed based on member suggestion.

I bet mynameisfred remembers the Relationships board and Fatal Rewind remembers the gaming board that existed when there were multiple entertainment boards. The science board was created based on a stray comment from a banned member. A lot of things have changed based on wants, needs, and member feedback. This isn't a case of "my way or the highway." She considers feedback more than you think and makes changes based on how it will influence the whole community. She wants you to get replies and not just likes and I think whatever final decision is made will be made with care and consideration to you all.

I'm fine with whatever happens.

Actually, that was THE reason I was brought on here, to help out with that sub-board. Christina found me on a (now long dead) gaming site and asked me to join to help increase the traffic. But unfortunately being mostly an old-school gamer, several posts I put up about games only got a few replies each, so the sub-board ended up just going into the Entertainment sub-forum and disappearing.

Thus proving that my forum didn't need a separate board for gaming. My audience wasn't big enough. Even though it has grown, I wouldn't separate everything now.

I like it, don't get me wrong. However, I think everything is organized extremely well as-is and I see no reason to split unless this place triples in activity or something like that. But that's only how I think.

I LOOOVEEEE Mzpanik, but I am leaning towards how much I love the current way things are organized. I'll try it out as BOTM and then see how it goes first.

I don't see a demand for it. I'd say to make the board if there was bloat in other boards like POKE mentioned, but there's not a large quantity of threads to move. I've seen maybe 1 financial thread per month, which doesn't warrant a new board in my opinion.
