As people have been bugging me on posting with video game stuff making it as the BOTM, well here I am, but I’m self-whoring one of my sites though, ha ha. Take it or leave it.
However, it's important to preserve history, hence my Arcade preservation wiki, as there are tons of wonderful arcades that came and went decades ago that you either can't find anything about online or maybe at most they were mentioned on a forum or someone's blog, and that’s it. This can change that.

It only hit triple digits the other week, and there's tons more that can be added! 100 arcades spread out over five countries all over the world isn't squat, as it could have 1000 pages by now, if not many more.
Unlike with Wikipedia needing references, these aren't required here; most will probably just come up with a description of the place and a list of games that were there, which is fine, as hopefully those will be added by more over time.
And places don't have to be flat-out arcades either, just as long as they have three machines (video or pinball game, a skill machine [whack-a-mole], ticket dispensing game, an air hockey table, skee ball, etc.). So these can include movie theatres, convenience stores, resale shops (also known as "car boot" places in non-U. S. countries), etc. Heck, the current featured arcade was a fish and chips shop back in the day, as they had a lot of games!
And arcades don't even have to be real to be written about, they can be fictional! There are several pages of fictional game rooms in the wiki, which include:
*The arcade from the 1980s movie Joysticks
*Noise Land from The Simpsons series and movie (only shown real briefly in the latter; see next paragraph)
*Pizza Planet from Toy Story (see next paragraph for more)
*The arcade from a Greatest American Hero episode
*The arcade from a Home Improvement episode
*The arcade from a Roseanne episode
*The arcade from a Gimmie a Break! episode
*The arcade from RoboCop 2
*Lone Star Arcade from the Shadow Realms Arcade online flash game. (However, if you haven’t played that game, SKIP the final entry on the Trivia section of the article or else you could be spoiled as to how the game ends!)
Many others are still open, such as Flynn's from the Tron movies. I know the Stranger Things series had something about an arcade before, possibly in several episodes for all I know. The Simpsons also had a Wall E. Weasel's, Family Fun Center, Captain Blip's Zapateria, Elm Street Video Arcade, Testoster-Zone and the Zip Zap and 'Za Pizza Arcade in certain episodes that have arcades in them, none of which have articles for. There are also two REAL Toy Story Pizza Planet places in real life that don’t have articles about them either. Hell, I even have an old Mad magazine with an article of an Arcade Owner of the Year (I think) that I can include, I just need to look to see if I still have it and can scan a pic or two from it. I know at one point Matthew Broderick’s character was at the 20 Grand Palace arcade playing Galaga during WarGames but I don’t recall how much of the game room was shown/what other games were there. And there's the possibility of two articles right there: one for the WarGames movie, since the arcade was in Seattle, making it a fictional arcade, and one for the *real* arcade itself, which was just north of Los Angeles. The arcade from The Last Starfighter and Wreck It Ralph movies are open, among many others I’m sure I’m forgetting/can’t think or don’t know of in the first place at the moment.
Some might not be possible to do pages on though, such as the one from the beginning of the Primus video “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver”. I might try e-mailing the people at their official site to see if they have any info as to what arcade that was but it could be they won’t know. Worth a shot though, as the games weren't real visible, they were just pretty much a blur in the background.
