Or the "I get along better w/ guys" is a common one.
Seems like common themes I constantly have heard girls say...certainly is more common with women than men. I don't know many men that the majority of their friends are girls, unless they are gay.
Would you say you fall in one of these categories...I have more male friends. Some female friends, but mainly as a result of them being gfs/spouses of friends.

For myself its a dilemma, because while males tend to be more understanding/comfortable with my eccentricities, they also try to have sex with me. So now I tend to associate with females that pass my finely honed vetting process.

I'm a male with mostly male friends. I once had a guy tell me that the only reason a male will have female friends is if he plans to sleep with them in the future.

I know this is going to piss people off, but women who say this are the biggest bitches out there. If you just happen to have all male friends, that's fine. Sometimes that's just the way things go. But if you say,"I can't have women friends because they are all drama-filled and emotional" then the real problem is YOU not other women.
You're not only a b!tch, but you're also a misogynist who spends their life trying to feel better about themselves by claiming all other women are evil.
At the very least, you would think these girls could get along with each other because they are superior and less drama-filled than the rest of us according to their own description and they like male hobbies, but I NEVER and I mean NEVER see them making friends with each other. Because they can't stand each other.
The girls who say this are usually the most drama-filled of any of the women. They say really snarky and rude things and then say women are being "emotional" for getting angry at them for saying these things. They surround themselves with guys who will put up with their bad attitudes because those guys want to sleep with them. They think those guys agree with everything they say and are not "drama-filled" because they are fake agreeing to get into their pants.
I always stay very, very far away from women who talk like this. Yes, there are women full of drama and it's understandable that this upsets you, but if you've never found even ONE woman in your life who wasn't this way, then maybe the problem is with YOU and not THEM. There's lots of nice women out there, just like there's lots of nice men.
And I repeat, I'm not talking about women who just HAPPEN to be friends with just men. Who just happen to like the same hobbies, so on and so forth. I'm talking about the ones who go,"I hate girls. They are so drama-filled. That's why I can't be friends with them."

^That's really true. Those women aren't even trying. Having a relationship with another woman can be very positive. I wish I actually have IRL female friends. I've isolated myself so much that I don't know where to start now.

I have a small circle of friends, would consider myself to have more female friends in general, but my closest friends are men.

Right now I have Three close online frineds. One - Le boyfriend (William), and the others are both females. Usually I tend to stick to males cause they are honest and stay away from drama. It's not true though with some males, cause they like to cause all sorts of trouble. Males are easier to read for me, and are more open about themselves. Females well they have written so many books on how to understand them, and half of the time I can't even when I am on myself. Inside of a friendship, I look for easy going, honest people. If you want to bring in all of your drama and whatever else with you, then it will not work out at all.

Hmm I think I have a pretty decent split of male and female friends.
In my experience, my female friends talk a lot more about people when we are hanging out together. Sometimes good things, but mostly things that annoy them or they don't like. When I'm with just male friends, we rarely talk about our other friends that are not there.
I do have some female friends that make the claim that all their friends are male, and I can say I think those are the ones that talk the most about people behind their back.
Just my experiences, not trying to throw out blanket statements...
