Would it be safe to try to lose 5 a week?

Would it be safe to try to lose 5 a week? Depends on your current weight. An obese person can safely lose that much a week, but it can be an unrealistic goal (and potentially harmful) for someone that's just slightly overweight. -darc

Hi there ALL I am new to this forum and I am up for losing ten pounds, this year. I have been up to three stone overweight over the years and have kept most of it off.I am doing a very sedentary job at the moment and need to get more exercise.Losing 5 pounds in a is not impossible if you are under 30.As to keeping weight off that is a different issue!

Since making this thread, I haven't lost anything yet. Well I'm not gonna say I did. My weight fluctuates between 138 and 141. So I'm not gonna start counting pounds until I hit 137
