We don't really have an elaborate Christmas meal or anything, but I love that it's cold enough to drink hot chocolate.

We have something similar, with the marshmellows and all; dunno what it's called though Well, every year we get a Christmas ham from one of my uncles. Think it arrived this afternoon: some big box addressed to my parents with the word "PERISHABLE" is sitting in the kitchen right now ;D One wild guess as to what we're having for din-din tonight ;D

WRONG! Several times over Well, first off, that package was from someone else, with mostly bread/breakfast-type stuff. English muffins; yum. Blueberry...somethings. Forgot what it was, but they didn't last long ;D They were like pancakes, but you could pop 'em in the toaster. Also some cranberry bread. And something called "pear butter", which, for some reason, neither parent had ever had (even though my mom grew up on a farm). It's actually more akin to jelly, rather than butter, which goes well on toast (and the soon to be gone English muffins ). Needless to say, we've quickly made mincemeat (sorry ) out of it, it's nearly gone. Some hard candies too, but none of us care about those; all I can say is that I can't remember when the last time was that I looked forward to mornings, since I hate them (not a morning person). Ok, so last night, UPS rang the doorbell. There were TWO boxes there. Dad said his brother had said they (the company he buys the ham from) were sold out of ham, so he compensated by...getting us a thing of ribs...AND a turkey. Actually it might have been because his wife died several months ago, which mom and dad went up for the funeral, then again last month as part of a vacation. However, upon opening up the boxes, they BOTH contained only ribs. Oh sh*t! Considering I can't remember when the last time was any of us have even HAD any ribs, that's a damn lot of ribs. So we had that for dinner tonight. Pretty damn good, and it's nice to have something different. But we've got so damn much (guess the company screwed up) we've got several packages in the fridge AND the freezer. So I suggested to mom we should give my sister at least one package of them (to start, heh), which she thought was a good idea, even if her kid won't eat them (which his diet's near-terrible, he hardly eats anything). Well...then as I was going out tonight for my usual walk, the...familiar...styrofoam...box...was sitting at the door. Oh SH*T! Yep, the turkey arrived Oh lordy. That company REALLY screwed up, losing a bit of money on that order. Good thing we never got rid of an old, extra freezer that we quit using years ago...well, aside from using it here and there over the years...for things like this, I suppose. Meanwhile, dad had sent his brother his yearly grapefruit, which arrived the other day. Guess who the hell got the better deal?
