Thought I'd put this one up in case anyone had some cool links. Just make sure to follow this in a TOS way and let us know in case anything we're about to click on has shots of a haunted house with any gore or anything in it.
I don't have anything Halloween-like, just stuff that would fit the mood, as most of these links I've put up before on here...
www.abandoned-places.com/ -- most of the photos kick ass, most of them are in black and white (again, adding to them being kick ass), some of them you'll shrug and say "why?", others you won't know what the hell you're looking at, and some of them are, yes, kind of creepy. It makes you wonder about why some of the places left so much behind, like those with even work records dating from back to the 1920s being still intact! Others have pieces of machinery that you wonder what on earth it is that they did when the place was operational. One of them is some kind of factory that made heads of people (museum pieces? Store mannequins? Universities?) and the shot of a head still sitting in a vat is pretty creepy. Whatever it is, the guy's obviously crazy, as several of the places he's been to says that there are still big mining holes open in fields that you could fall and no one would ever find you...swell!
www.beksinski.pl/ -- unusual, creepy art. Best if you have high-speed internet, as I remember it running a bit slow on dial-up when I had it, so make sure you have something to do while you're waiting for pages to load, like playing Solitaire or doing some household chores. All the stuff has to load via Flash (I think), so it's kind of annoying. However, once you GET there...themes seem to be alien worlds, abandoned buildings, giant crosses (one might think the guy has something against organized religion), faces in strange places (headstones), and a fair amount of nudity. Granted, there isn't really anything over a PG-13 rating (there's only one drawing that I considered to be of a sexual nature), but I wouldn't really say it's work safe either (actually, you could be fired because the boss might think you're very weird ), as most of it's presented in a National Geographic, "these are the people of the Wobanga tribe, who, even though naked, is nothing to get excited about (unless you're between the ages of 6-10), since none of them look that great" ( ), since most of them appear to be starving anyway. The guy's got a bit of an unusual talent, if you ask me. Have your speakers on too, as eerie music wafts by here and there as you're looking.
www.shayesaintjohn.com/ -- this lady does gnarly stuff to dolls. Have your sound on again, although none of the stuff you'll hear is going to make much sense anyway.
Anyway, yours?
