Hope I didn't just make a mistake. I just gave out my # to 2 women I just met on a forum (not here) because I wanted more female friends, and I didn't think to use Google Voice or anything. I just used my real #.

Literally just met. I mean, they gave me their #s first. I forgot I had an old signature message to message me to be texting pals. First time on that site in 10 years.

They PMed me their #s and I texted them from my phone. I don't knwo them from a hole in the wall. They could be guys for all I know.
But TBH, it's a site that's 99% female, so probably not.

At this point, the damage is done and you have to hope for the best. Maybe they'll become good friends since they reached out first.

Did they give you real #s or did they give you app #s?

I think one was real and one was an app.

Could always say you're getting a new # and switch them over to Google Voice, and have them delete your real # if you are worried.

Not sure. I want the new friends. But boy did I just kill my privacy.

Whats your gut instinct on both of them? Good or bad?

It's good actually. This is just something I haven't done since I was in my 20s, just hand out my # like that. I forgot it was in my signature, and then I went along with it anyway.

Changing your # to Google Voice is always an option, or if they turn out to be good friends, you can leave it alone.

You can't undo what they already have, but like others said, you can "change" your #, and give them a Google #.

A few people on this forum have my #, but it took years to give it to them. I'm ok with giving SOME online friends my #, but not that quickly.
