on some days, we know what to pursue.

and on some, we forget how it feels to be passionate, to be alive.

there are days when we see ourselves in a garden of dandelions, singing at the top of our lungs.

and there are times when we see ourselves in a crowd, faceless and marching in a lonesome defeat.

on some days, we want to be loved as a daylight.

and on some, we just want to exist.

and that's life— it doesn't have to be perfect. we're put in a horrendous situation so we can appreciate the beauty of things. it's great to be happy and it's all okay to not be okay.

The more I grow older, the more I realize how much I want my life to be less crowded.

I realized that I have a lot on my plate, and there are times when it just gets overwhelming. There were so many instances that required my presence that I just couldn’t accommodate them, and I feel completely guilty for doing so. I pondered how I had been so loaded down by numerous responsibilities that setting them aside became the greatest risk I couldn't afford to lose.

I realized that I am no longer the person I used to be—people’s people. I can’t be at all places at once. I can’t have all the right words to mend a broken soul or drop everything I do just so I could run to where the fun is calling or have the availability to clean other people’s reckless mess. I don't have enough time to bring along a multitude of problems, as the burden of my own unresolved issues at home already exhausts me. It makes me selfish. It makes me bad. But I can’t always be everyone’s best repairer because I am no longer as strong as I was.

And so, I might not have the biggest circle of people, but I am glad to be left with a few. I might not have a crowd to clap for me on my best days, but at least I have a few who stood with me at my worst.

I have to choose which ones I will allow in my life and through that, I found my peace in smaller crowds.

And this is enough for me, I guess. I might not have a lot of people to accommodate, but for those that I do, I make sure they all feel loved. That they are heard and seen. And they are also grateful that they exist in my life too. Truly, less is more because bigger isn't always better.
