It might not be terrible, but I'm not paying money to see it in the movies either.

I'll give it a shot when it gets to Hulu on demand.

The sequels were kinda boring. Maybe 5 will be better.

I don't even remember 3 or 4 anymore. They're not worth it. With the first 20 minutes of watching 3 I thought "my God, if I saw this in a theatre I might've walked out" since the dialog was soooo bad (I got the dvd as a Christmas present, which I did NOT ask for). It got better later though BUT ehhhhh I gave up after the first, but it's not really my genre. ...that's why they should've stopped with just the first one, and for two reasons. One was that there was nowhere to go after that, period. The concept of life as we know it not actually existing was mind-blowing as hell. All you had were two sequels making things confusing and not going through many mind-blowing concepts from there. There's just no way to try to improve on the original whatsoever (something sequels are supposed to do but usually don't 95% or more of the time). The second reason is that the original Matrix might've even been a ripoff. I saw a post on a forum where the guy said it was a ripoff of the books of Johnny Mnemonic and some other book that I don't recall the title of (I'd look it up but those forums went goodbye ages ago). Usually right off the bat a ripoff isn't as good as the original, plus they would have to make up all kinds of stuff to come up with their own version. But then, see the first reason again: the original concept was so mind-blowing they couldn't come up with more mind-blowing ideas in the two sequels, coming nowhere even close to topping the original. They should've just stopped with the original Matrix and did the side canon tv series of The Animatrix, being nine animated short stories in regards to the Matrix. That would've been fine. Because if you didn't like some (or all) of the episodes in the latter, all you had to do was say "oh well, it was just canon, so those didn't 'count'", and you were done. No watching the sequels that were nowhere near as good as the first one and trying to figure them out (for possibly the rest of your life!).
