Probably a pretty interesting article--I haven't read it yet--that only just now popped up in my Firefox feed: lost Antartica exploration vehicleThis was supposed to be a self-sustaining vehicle for a year and could supposedly travel 5000 miles. Due to not knowing when there could be a ground collapse due to cavities underneath and all I assume that's what happened to this vehicle, that there was a collapse and it got swallowed up.

I can't believe they didn't find anything yet.

This could be anywhere at the bottom of the ocean or in hundreds of pieces.

Just don't take a submersible to try to find it!

Imagine if we find that along with all the planes that disappeared over the years.

I wonder if there are any underwater documentaries about this.

I think what scares me most is how so many kinds of craft just disappear without a trace at all.

Sounds to me like they are being lazy about looking.

What if there's a conspiracy and a coverup?

All this time and still zip? Anyone have a weird conspiracy about this one?

^Not weird, but since it could've fallen into the Southern Ocean, that's 20,327,000 km2, or 7,848,000 square miles of possible search. That's a pretty large area. Not sure if sonar could find it through snow or anything either, and how often does Antarctica thaw if that's the problem? NEVER, to the best of my knowledge.

What if the ocean is salty because the land never waves back?
My attempt at making a joke about the situation.
