Hah, I would've had this one on the main list but I hadn't listened to the album at the time! I started it yesterday and finished it up this morning. Skeletons and Sidewalks, "Struck By Lightning": this is a very brief instrumental--being less than two minutes long--consisting mostly of just piano. However, it gets pretty unnerving at the end; possibly due to imagining if you (or someone you're watching in a horror movie) is walking through a haunted house and you know there's a jump scare coming but you don't know exactly when. There's also thunder and someone screaming in the background at times, making this piece, yeah, pretty much perfect for this time of year.

I was pretty surprised to find out this morning that Old Tower (who got an album linked to on last year's list) suddenly released a new one today. Out of it so far is "Gateway to the Serpent's Dimension", a creepy dark ambient/dungeon synth landscape where keyboards creepily ebb in and out throughout. It also has a really dreadful, ominous ending to it. I'll post more later if there is anything else that would fit in here (I've only listened to the first three tracks so far).

^Nah, just this: * Candlemass, “March Funebre”: ok, so I DID think of this powerful doom metal piece–the “death march”– from their second album, at least. Sheesh...however, I can’t find it, except for a cover on YouTube. If someone else can find it, kindly post a link on here. This is a powerful rendition of the ancient Bach classical piece Here it is:

Good idea! But they just need a show PERIOD. It's sad how few shows there have been this year but then I guess stuff happened. Can't whine too much when the stuff's free I suppose.

Geez, here I have THE biggest bunch of creepy stuff yet, then I keep on adding Haudh just announced in an e-mail this morning that he released a new ep with the track "They Gather At the Altar". In this very long (20 minutes, his longest one yet), very dark ambient soundscape, there's just droning, repeating sound effects without much variation, just punctuated by slowed down male vocals explaining the (hopefully) urban legend of a place in Ohio known as Satan's Hollow where Satanists allegedly gather. This is even more creepy than one of his earliest tracks of "To the Grave" (which made it onto a previous post on here) since it's just flat-out evil. Brrrr...

MAYBE this is the last one?! Just ran across this the other hour: Neurosis, "Erode"--I actually don't know how to describe this intro, just being heavy and unsettling. But Neurosis was a bit odd anyway, being, at its core, a heavy, sludgy doom metal band, but then they also employed odd keyboards, at times clean singing (along with growling/yelling), acoustic guitar and a bunch of other stuff (just basically a throw all kinds of stuff and see if it sticks kinda group).
