I might say it if I'm making an exaggerated rant that makes fun of my parents at the same time

Yes and no.
When I say it, I'm mostly joking because of what I heard when *I* was a kid.

Potter and I like to make exaggerated jokes that start with "kids today" and "back in my day," but we're not necessarily judging the younger generations negatively. We're discussing differences from when we were younger, just as our parents did with us.

a lot of younger people i work with or know don't know what the atari 2600 was or never seen pay phones or beepers. who knows what would've happened if covid lock downs happened in 2000 instead of 2020.

I kinda just scoff at how easy people have it today and how helpless people are without their phones. That's all.
