It really did get more expensive! All the value meals and stuff even at McDonalds usually run you like $10 now. When I was in high school, a double cheeseburger at McDonalds was $1, now I think it's more than $3 - inflation hasn't tripled in the last 20 years, so it's definitely gone up more than the average good. Probably the case for all food though

I got burgers and fries at a local fast food joint for my hubby and the four kids. I expected it to be like $40 or so dollars.
It was $60 something bucks. This was for basic cheese burgers.
We rarely get fast food but I can get them all kids meals at McDonald’s for $20…
