Anyone else notice that? A few burger joints are more expensive than restaurants now, and get this, if you go to a Nathan's in a mall, it's more expensive than going to a sit down restaurant that's outside of the food court.
RANT RANT RANT!

Does Nathan's even exist in the US outside of the mall? I heard it's $5 per hotdog.

Smashburger can cost $45 for burger and fries for TWO people. There's something wrong with that.

I've never in my life heard of Nathan's.
Fast food is pretty pricey anymore. You have to be very careful when ordering to ensure it's not going to cost much more than you expect. My family hardly EVER gets fast food or takeout because the cost is just ridiculous. So much more affordable to just cook food at home myself plus it's healthier. Sucks though that sometimes you are out and it's the easiest/only option or you just want that occasional treat that it feels like it breaks the bank for a couple burgers and some fries.

Yes and the weirdest part of everything you said is that it's more expensive than a restaurant.

I have no idea how some fast food places get way with charging $9 for a burger.

Tell me about it. A Burger King meal just cost me $18 just for myself.

lithiumkat , Maybe you can inspire me to cook. What's your favorite thing to cook at home? I cycle through several favorites. I love fresh fish filets with roasted veggies (usually potatoes/carrots/mushrooms/onions) or sometimes with mashed potatoes and a canned side like green beans. I also like to make chili a lot. I do scrambled eggs and toast because it's easy, cheap and healthy. I do tacos a lot because my little girl loves them. I tend to make simple stuff that is fairly healthy. I also usually do ground turkey instead of ground beef. Baked potatoes made in the instant pot are always great too. I also love pizza and if I make it homemade I can make the crust out of whole wheat flour and fat free greek yogurt as primary ingredients and load it up with mostly veggies and have portion control on the less healthy things like how much cheese is on it and how much pepperoni. It gives me a way to enjoy pizza without it being pricey like from a pizza place and makes it still a pretty healthy option which we all know can be tough when it comes to pizza. Also good old rice and black beans. I add some shredded cheese on top and a bit of salsa and fat free plain greek yogurt and so tasty and also easy, cheap and healthy.
