I remember for a few years there when iPhones were supposedly the pinnacle (or maybe people have just thought that) of the cell phone world. A new version would come out and people would camp out at stores for them, holding them up the next morning as their fan base cheered as they exited the store with them.
The funny thing was was that a lot of the time some of the newer versions of the phones barely had any differences than the previous model. Plus after several months the price would drop, so they were paying too much for too little a difference.
Do people still do this any more? Or maybe they do and you just don't hear about it on the news any more.

Wait in line AND spend $2,000? NO THANKS. Heh, yeah. I remember seeing news clips with people holding their iPhones over their heads when they camped for them like they should be given an award or something. How about the P. T. Barnum award?  Only reason I have an iPhone is because I got it as a gift. Once it's no longer updated I *might* get another one but it wouldn't be for the most current, expensive model. Personally I would've rather had an Galaxy or Android indeed. |
