With several of us scattered all over the world doing nature-type threads quite a bit, I was wondering if we could make a central thread in the Darkroom or something where anyone could contribute. Like with the Streaming Dungeon Synth thread, perhaps it could be like a "Bboy nature thread 2023", then it'd get locked at the end of the year and a new one would start again with the new year, etc.

You can make one. But I wouldn't add to it pereonally. All mid posts would probably get ignored and people wouldn't get attention to their individual pics.

You can make yourself a photo blog that gets logged at the end of the year. I don't think combing all threads is good. Might defeat the purpose of The Darkroom's existence. You know? Mega threads don't always work well on forums because no one will read all 20+ pages if they come in late. They'll read the first and last posts only.

You can make one for your area and I'll look at your pics.

The general purpose of the ongoing, yearly blog threads is for micro blogging where people don't want or expect the replies of a full-length thread. You are more than welcome to create this thread. However, I still see people creating their own threads when they want to share pictures of their new toy, vacation, artwork, et al. One giant thread could cause a lot of content in that thread to get overlooked. Does that make sense? I'm not trying to be discouraging though.

You can make it. IDK if it'll work the way you want.
Like today, I made my thread about pics in France. But I wouldn't combine it with other people's travel pics.
Try it out for your local pics.

I'd follow your picture blog.
However, if I share pics from my California adventures, I'd make my own threads.

You can make the thread, but I don't want your pics to get neglected.
The blog threads seem to work best for bullet posts that don't require replies.

You could try it out if people want to share an occasional shapshot, but don't really want the feedback.
What would you call it?

Like I said, maybe something like the "Bboy nature thread". None of the other nature people have chimed in though so this seems to mostly be an "eh" if not a flat-out "nay". I will enjoy more of the greater houston area. I haven't lived in Houston for nearly two years now. I'm in Colorado for the time being.

Maybe the nature people don't know they are nature people. You could tag them.
