In Tapatalk, you'll have a menu that has icons representing:
Forum Home | List of Boards | Your Threads | Messages | Notifications
Messages can be accessed by clicking the envelope, which is to the left of the bell.
You won't see this menu while in a board or in a thread. You should see it everywhere else.
