I think it'll take getting used to. I've had the same avatar for over 5 years. I think most people keep one avatar forever.

I'd have to reassociate your name with a new picture. It's not that big of a deal. But when I scroll through threads, I pay more attention to avatars than display names.

I've had a few different red cars over the years, but it's always been a red car. If you keep it similar, it won't be hard for people to remember. But make it whatever you want. We don't mind.

I've had the same avatar since I joined. The only thing I would say NOT to do is to NOT change your user name and avatar at the same time. Then it's like you're a completely different person.

When my avatar started it was just one bird. The avatar came with ProBoards. I was challenged to change my avatar and the birds multiplied. Otherwise, my avatar has been the same since 2003. It's easy to identify people by avatar, but you don't have to keep it the same forever.

I'd relearn. Same with anyone else. I group avs and names together. You'd do the same with me.
