I don't know yet if this is going to be a full resolution since I'm still thinking about it, but a lot of me wants to downsize, build my own tiny house, and have a little place of my own.

One thing I tell most people is that you can also consider a modular home. That's also tiny, but going to be a lot easier for you going from a house.

These types of homes look cool if you like the idea of everything being stacked or collapsable, but won't you feel more crowded with everything on top of you? And then if it's not on wheels, wouldn't you feel trapped? That's what I think the downsides are for me. Also, plumbing? What happens with washing clothes? There are some things you might want to think about before you shrink down to 5 rooms in one bedroom.

It's a living option I've considered, but I also think it'll limit growth and prevent me from ever having a family. You can't escape anything or anyone in a Tiny House either.

Can you fit everything you own in your current bedroom? You have to factor in a shower, a toilet, appliances, and a sink.

These things are unbelievably cute, but check out Tiny House Nation on Neflix. Get an idea of what you're getting into.

I love Tiny House Nation, but I wish there were updates a year later to see how they people were doing.

I have an RV, but also a house. I don't think I could use the RV as a full-time house. Do you have any questions?

I’m right there with you. (Sort of)
We’re trying to decide how big to build our guest house(which we’ll be living in for a few years while we build our house.). We’re thinking about doing 800-1000 square foot, which definitely isn’t a tiny house, but we are going to be a family of 5 so it’s definitely going that route.
We’ve been trying to downsize because we don’t want to move so much stuff, but also because we’re now thinking we’re going to be living out of two RVs while we build the guest house. We figured if we did two it would give me a way to escape with a crying baby or either of the adults a place to hang out if we wake up earlier than the kids.
So while not exactly going tiny, I really want to downsize more and more. I have a feeling when we go to pack, we’re going to realize we need to cull even more. I feel like we don’t even have that much stuff, but between my craft stuff and baby clothes tucked away from NB-2 years, cooking stuff. I don’t know. I honestly feel like we don’t have that much stuff, but we definitely have more than I want to keep.

I still want a home on wheels, but closer to the size of a tour bus.

If any of you go through with this, I really want info from people I know and trust. I want to know all the pros and cons you experience.

I think about this sometimes. I just don't get how plumbing is supposed to work. And how does one use a composting toilet?

I like hoarding stuff. I really can't part with things easily. I don't think I could do it. These homes are smaller than my closet space.
