As I’m getting older, I’ve noticed that my anxiety has grown increasing worse. There are a few different tactics I try to use when I start feeling but they don’t ALWAYS work. Sometimes, I ask myself if it’s worth ruining my whole day. I picture 2 boxes in my mind... basically, “keep” and “toss” bins for my thoughts. Other times, I’ll simply just try to breathe through it.
What are some techniques you use to get you back to feeling those good vibes?

Take time to sit down and think and think positively. Think about how the situation could have been worse and think about the good.

I have a journal now that really helps me. I write out good and bad thoughts. I get through things by getting them out in ink if that makes sense.

I've gotten into the habit about being honest about what I feel, even if it sounds silly or embarrassing. I tell people out loud and just get it out of my body. Repression never helped anyone.

I get a lot of physical anger and anxiety sometimes, to the point where I have to go to the gym and run or I have to punch a punching bag. But it's such a release.

I have never been a gym person... but o have definitely noticed that when my anxiety hits, my gut reaction is to either get really quiet, or really mad. It’s so strange how that ugly little devil rears it’s head.

Find someone who is much stronger and get them to provide as much resistance as possible. That tens to be what I do.

Are you one for meditation, prayer, or friendly therapy (not from a shrink)?

Are you one for meditation, prayer, or friendly therapy (not from a shrink)? None of the above, honestly. I’ll talk to some friends, but that’s about it. I feel like I’m on this grand quest, trying different methods to see which ones I respond to the best, so I’m definitely open to all of the ideas lol

When things get REALLY tough, sometimes I’ll jot my thoughts down in my notes. I’m a bit paranoid about keeping a journal. I have a very nosey 10 year old who always asks what I’m doing lol

I think it's because everyone online is removed from my life a little and can give me unbiased advice.

Be more open about how you feel. Directly open. Feelings cause by others shouldn't stay inside you.

I talk to people in and out of my circle. Sometimes I go online and ask strangers for an opinion because they won't try to give me answers that I want to hear.

Lady Rachel, I pitch a fit. I whine. I yell. I hit things. Then I get unlimited buffalo wings and ranch, and life is good again.
