I know a lot of people who have a house on the beach and use it a whole month out of every year. I see others where the owner is never present and just rents it out in the summer. Do you have a summer home?

No and I don't think I'd rent someone else's either. Aren't hotels cheaper?

I doubt it. A lot of the beach houses I see for rent are $900 per week. So, assuming you're splitting it with family or friends, it's not much.

I've seen them. I don't have my own. I can't afford to keep a spare home.

No, but if I were to have a getaway, it would be a log cabin in the mountains.

No way can I afford to keep an extra house. I do envy people who have vacation homes.

My grandparents used to own a ton of rental properties and a diner, but everything was sold when they died. I wish my parents didn't sell everything.

^I guess they didn't want to be landlords. Too bad. You could have had an apartment complex eventually.

Even if my parents liked me, I don't think I could handle the full responsibility. But they would have been nice to visit when I was younger.

Were any of the buildings in nice places, or just city rentals?

They weren't in vacation areas. They were scattered all over my state.

I don't have one, but I stayed in someone else's. It was $1475 for 10 days and I split it with a few friends.

Nope. If I could afford something extra, I'd also pick the cabin in the woods.

No, but I stayed in a relative's beach condo once. I cold not sleep for the life of me near the ocean. It's a bad memory.
