I stole a lot from stores, like a LOT. I don't want to put in numbers because they aren't important. Stealing is stealing. I got caught twice. What I got caught for, including the restitution I had to pay was maybe 2% of what I stole total. I never went to jail.
That's my confession.

What finally made you stop?

Getting caught the 2nd time is what made me stop. Nothing happened the first time even though I was over 25 both times. I just paid a fine.
The 2nd time, I got a ban from the store. I paid a fine.
I realized that I could have gone to jail. And it wasn't worth it.

Maybe you needed to get caught then. The next move may have put you in jail.

I'm glad that greedy part of my life is in the past too.

I think petty theft is something a lot of people do at least once. Getting caught seems to be what you needed to learn your lesson. Getting it out of your system was helpful too.

Yes I don't told 2 people in real life. It's shameful.

Was it all about the thrill for you? Or is that a myth people pin on thieves?

There was never any "thrill" in being a criminal. I just couldn't afford stuff and thought other stuff should be free. So, I took it.
