I've noticed that a lot of people avoid eye contact and have trouble looking you in the eyes whether or not you are lying. What is this about the human condition that makes it hard for us?

I don't have that problem. But I want to attribute it to no one having face to face contact anymore.

Did you know that in some cultures it's supposedly considered rude to look into someone's eyes?

I would be uncomfortable looking into a speaker's eyes, like a teacher or priest. But if it's conversation with a friend, that's fine.

It doesn't necessarily bother me or creep me out, but it depennds who it is. I can do it with my BF and most close people.
If the person scares me, I'll stare at the ground or look around the room.

It does scare me when people stare though. Staring is different from the courteous type of eye contact.
