I've been spending forever helping a friend find a job. I put myself on the line as a reference, spoke highly of him, got him hired so many times, and he never keeps a job more than a month or two. smh. So now, it's like it's my fault and he stopped talking to me.

It is NOT your fault if he can't keep a job. You are not responsible for him getting fired or laid off.
