Does your state or country allow extended benefits? Say your benefits run out? Does your state allow an extension if you have a life problem?

6 months, even if you work and report income. Your benefits don't extend.

I don't think I ever checked. I thought this was done on a federal level since you only report it to your federal taxes..

^You report the income to state too. But you report the taxes paid to federal.

^You report the income to state too. But you report the taxes paid to federal. Oh, That's right. The total gets reported to both. But if you are having tax withheld, that goes to federal only. You're right.

I think you can apply for an extension here, but I think it's hard to get one. You have to show a lot of proof that you were looking for work.
