]So keeping 4 gravid females, babies are bound to come. Usually you can tell because the females shed about a week before giving birth. So last week, one of the females, shed, and here was the result a week later: Pot full of dangerous baby snakes They feel safe in small containers to they were moved into these Now its hard to picture their size, so here are some reference pictures When they are born, they are very hard feeders...they strike at the food, but dont hold on. Also, because of their size, you cant feed them a day old mouse....thats too big for them. So here is a baby next to a 1" piece of 1 day old mouse Because they dont eat, you have to force feed them, but how do you do that safely? You use a feeding tube. The tube is wide enough for the snake to go through, but not wide enough for them to turn around and back back out of the tube. Entire process is completed using tools, and never your hands. Except for the back end where you grab the back of the snake, and keep the head just above the tube. This allows for assisted feeding. Heres a tube shot After a month, the snakes smarten up and eat on their own. Then you keep feeding, raise them up, and all good. Here is the adult female who gave birth to the babies. The snake hook is 26" long for reference

Whenever I deal with the snakes, its with a snake hook at least 3x the length of the snake. The only reason to ever touch a snake is when you assist feed as a juvenile. Using that assist tube makes it safe, but its still a 2 person job.
