Now I will visit you all. Barely did any riding last season due to working a ton of overtime and other obligations... been riding a 2008 Gary Fisher hard tail 26" for years and it served its purpose. Decided this was the year that I upgrade to a big boy bike. Initially went to the bike store looking for a 29er but this bike was so sexy to me I had to have it. It's a Specialized Camber Comp 650b (27.5" wheels) my local bike store has an insane annual sale this weekend and I got it for the sale price which was $2099 marked down from $2599 which is a steal. pics obviously. at the bike shop, plastic pedals came off before I went riding. pics from after my first ride.

Nice. Specialized makes a great bike. They were on my short list when I bought new last year.

Not sure if you should do prolonged travel with those though.

It'll be like a slow road trip. No harm in that.

I always wanted to do that. With just a little backpack. You begin to see what you REALLY need, and how much of your life is clutter.

Pets can ruin your ability to be spontaneous honestly.

I am thinking about it but I feel like the only pro is it will help you pedal more effeciantly. That's not enough for the cons which are, having to be clipped onto my bike... not being able to put my foot down if I get squirrely... not being able to position my feet differently for jumps.... not being able to bail out of small jumps.... if I crash i'll be stuck to my bike.

Look on pinkbike.com too. That's the best place for good used mountain bikes.
