just a few thoughts on the reality of the christmas season
three days before halloween, i went into a dollar general store, and yes, there were halloween decorations down half an aisle. however, the next aisle over was filled with christmas stuff. how insane can anyone be?
i haven't been going into many stores recently, but, sadly, every tie that i did, more christmas decorations. the closer to thanksgiving, the worse it got. then, the big day, black friday. when i worked security, i had to work several malls on black fridays. i will never comprehend how i made it through them without shooting some fool. now, i will just not leave the house on the friday after thansgiving, even if i had a million bucks in my pocket.
horror of horrors though, black friday now seems to begin at 4pm on thanksgiving. how irrational, and abjectly stupid, is that?
it is truly insane. clowns trying to convince you that christmas is coming, even before halloween. foolsgoing ever farther in their attempts to convince you that christmas is right around the corner, every day thereafter.
REALITY!! i have absolutely NO need for any of that stupidity. i always know when christmas is coming. i realize that christmas is coming when i have finally seen a commercial for chia pet. that is the one, unfailing, signal that christmas is approaching. it is as reliable as the sunrise. when i see a chia pet commercial, i know that christmas is on the way. this year, for some reason, i'm worried about the clapper though

I agree with you. When I worked in retail, Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff went out together right after Halloween.
Black Friday is now black Thursday..
It's crap/

I always call black friday shoppers scum. Nothing justifies sitting in line for 14 hours to save $20 bucks on stuff that's last season. The only "deals" on black friday are on unwanted items. No one seems to realize that.

^Best Buy was I know only gets rid of stuff from stock like lower quality TVs, lower resolution monitors etc. The "deals" don't exist.

I went to make a second Menards raid a couple weeks before Christmas and 90% of the Christmas section was sold out already. It's crazy!
