My exes family was like that. First, be truthful and keep a straight face when you embarrass them. Keep emotions out of it. Just go down memory lane, that usually shuts them up pretty quick, especially when you take it step by step. As for the text messages, read them out loud to everyone stating you won't stoop to secrets. If you have something to say, man up and say it.
