In the United States, I was wondering if they are merely a UK exclusive being that they're an English tradition. Turns out that my mother found and bought some from the 99¢ Only Store. These are cheap ones so the prize inside was already revealed to be stickers, but it came with the hat and the joke.
The snap was pretty loud and bright. Ashens probably would have been happy to see that after all of the dull ones he has reviewed.

I've had cookies. Are they just called crackers or are they actually crackers?

If you just think they wording is off, they call cookies biscuits - not crackers.
