Haha, it's only awkward if I'm watching a show with my parents. If I'm watching with a friend or my spouse, we usually make fun of it. If I'm watching alone, I just ignore it.
Though admittedly some shows do get to me because it's excessive. (I'm looking at YOU, Hemlock Grove).
