Only downside to the frontier, for me anyway, is that the side airbags cannot be shut off in 4lo like they can on the Toyota.

I had an 08 Xterra. Was a good vehicle. Hated the 4.0 though.
Went to a 4runner after that. Everything about it was better. Ride, motor, suspension, brakes....etc.
I'd get a Tacoma if you're flexible.
