Anyone used truecars.com to buy cars at a dealership before? Is the price a good price or just bs?

I always find a forum for the car I'm looking at and then find the prices paid thread. Work the prices between dealers and profit. Really pretty simple.

I found exactly what I wanted and emailed like 10 dealers in the state requesting their best price. Some responded with something other than what I requested and they were immediately crossed off the list. With the remaining that emailed their best price I put them in a bidding competition with each other. When you get a final price call them and feel em out and make sure you want to buy from them. Pretty painless.

truecar is ****ing fantastic. you know for a fact that that's the price you can get with zero haggle. The real haggle will come in to make sure they don't hit you with any fees and give a decent price for your trade-in. Once you get one places final price for all 3 things rolled in to one, then you shop that around to have another dealership beat.
Truecar takes the haggle for the car off the table so you really only haggle on getting the best trade-in if you don't sell the car yourself.

They'd rather not do that- some large dealer groups have come out publicly and said they'd rather that money go to the customer than truecar.

You can get a good deal and it's easier than face to face negotiations.
