Is there ever a time when you are supposed to replace the carpets? Some people tell me every 15 years, but the carpets I have came with the house =/

I don't think you need to replace unless you spilled food and liquids everywhere and it's getting into the floor. Maybe shampoo the rug.

I would get one of those steam vacuums. No need to really replace unless you've done something horrible to them.

We call stanley steamer once a year to just clean everything up. It's well worth the money.

I'd get them in a new house and then spot clean until I move out.

We just bought a steam cleaner and I love it. Easily a well spent $160.
