Buy store brand, use coupons, and try to do it all in one trip. A bunch of little trips usually means you get more overall.

Plan out what you need in advance. Make a list. Collect coupons. Buy on sale.

Coupons and sales. Wait for them unless it's an emergency. Stock up. Keep food in the house - enough to last at least a month.

buy local. dont get imported foods. it saves a ton.

Try to go shopping maybe once a month when there's a good sale. Dont buy on impulse and dont weekly shop. Buy enough food to last a while.

Generally when the bill is too high it's because of the store itself. If you have other stores or nearby cities, those may be the only options.
