nothing like going home for the holidays to ruin my self confidence
why are all my relatives so popular, tall, and good looking?
it's weird that i even care about this, but it's like seeing everyone
all together, and all at once bums me out every year.

My relatives make me feel the same way. My cousins went to Ivy League schools. They are thin, beautiful, and have amazing jobs. They're all millionaires who live in places like Orange County and have huge lavish weddings. I have a cousin who owns a vineyard in France and whose wedding was so expensive it was featured in a popular bridal magazine.
They say things like,"These pants cost me two hundred dollars" and "I'm going to a spa for the weekend." I've never had an article of clothing that cost me even half of that AND I've also never been to a spa before.
And it's just really obvious that to them, my family is the introverted, weird, poor people.
And like other people said, they act really fake. I remember when I was a little kid, they said some really horrible things to my parents in front of me. Now they pretend we're best friends when we see each other and it creeps me out. Like, I just want to have a giant confrontation so that it will stop being fake or something.
