^That's really great. My mom keeps telling me we need realtors and lawyers and all these other people. How come you were able to do it all alone? We just decided going in, and because they didn't have a realtor that we would do it ourselves. We did get some free assistance from a friend who was a realtor, she basically read over the agreement from a legal standpoint and told us what to look out for. Working with the Lender and VA (I'm a veteran) wasn't bad at all. I think the toughest part was learning the laws/benefits to being a first time homebuyer in the state of MD. Lots of advantages, $ benefits, etc.

But did you also avoid lawyers for all the legal paperwork?
