I will vomit if I see green the rest of the night. A coworker has a ridiculous amount of greenbeans in his garden and if he didn't have them picked soon they were going to seed out and kill the plants so I picked with him for three hours (getting only roughly 1/3-1/4 of it picked) and he let me take home whatever he picked too I still need to dry them off and vacuum seal them and put them in the freezer. Anyone here grow their own food? Pic of green beans

Did you cut them or break them?

I'm not a farmer, but wouldn't cutting them with a knife be significantly faster ?

I've always snapped beans. I don't know if it's like lettuce where it browns if you cut it with metal.... I was always taught how to snap the ends and pull the string.

I snapped them. You just bend them enough and they break in half

snapping is what I normally do. It may take longer but if you use a farmers market type of bean then they are not perfect and snapping allows for variable lengths

I'd have a garden if I had the time.

Be happy about your work. If I had a garden and the time, I'd grow ALL my own food.
