I do not think Sukie has ever been MOTM. She disappears sometimes and tells us not to nominate her if she knows she'll be away.
You still have today and tomorrow left True Patriot. You can't get along with everyone, and I'm sure you know that. So any minor petty exchanges that occurred shouldn't be worried about. I've gotten into heated debates on here too, but it generally seems good natured.

You can't get along with everyone, and I'm sure you know that. So any minor petty exchanges that occurred shouldn't be worried about. I've gotten into heated debates on here too, but it generally seems good natured. I think Shadow liking this post of yours says a lot, but whatever. I think I've been around long enough to recognize what is good-natured and what is not. Then again, I suppose it depends on what side of the fence one is on. I bet if a few of these comments were directed at you they might not seem as minor, petty and good-natured as they might appear being directed at someone else. Maybe not...Who knows. "your ridiculous assertion...is patently stupid on its face" "In the mean time[sic], if you can refrain from the lying, it would make things a lot better." "But you do lie." "It makes you look like the liar whether you are lying or not." "If you are truthful, then why do you lie?" "You don't think your completely bias BS answer made a point?" "Can you comprehend words?" "The tripe lies with in[sic] your post." "don't[sic] be daft, fool." "don't[sic] be daft, clown." "you know that is another outright lie" "that idiocy is so dead and stinking. why do you keep repeating abject stupidity that has been so totally and completely discredited?" "Hey, you up there^. You're a horrendously terrible debater. Your posts are all extremely convoluted and make zero sense. Please to be shutting the **** up now, because you very clearly do not understand the plight of people who are not you." "I am a moderator on this forum. Just so you know, if I wanted you to truly shut up, I would be able to make you do so. I've never been against free speech. Saying,"Shut up" is just words that you can easily ignore and doesn't actually take your free speech away. If it did, you wouldn't have been able to reply to my post."

Perhaps such comments by individuals you don't get along with dont deserve your attention.
You know who you are, and you know how those who care about you feel about you.
Dont let someone else take that way from you.

Perhaps such comments by individuals you don't get along with don't deserve your attention. You know who you are, and you know how those who care about you feel about you. Don't let someone else take that way from you. Trust me, after seven years of being a lightening rod...Elephant Hide. I'm not complaining, I'm holding up a mirror to make people accountable and to challenge false assertions in a direct manner. If I was as thin-skinned as I'm said to be then I would have been gone a long long time ago. I'm known for doing in-depth research on the subjects I comment on (as well as explaining things in far too much detail) and for being tenacious. Attributes that are not favorable for those with agendas unsupportable by the facts. Hopefully others who are knowledgeable and more genuinely interested in having a discussion as opposed to simply advancing the talking points of their team will be encouraged to participate. Too often good people walk away from conflict and remain silent because it is considered more honorable, 'taking the high road', I can understand that, but if too many good people do that to often then with little or no opposition it's fairly predictable which side is going to prevail and that is the case on many of these forums and in society at large. I'm not perfect. I go too far sometimes; I'm human. However, I don't lie, I don't hesitate to correct my errors or to apologize when it is the proper thing to do, and I am quick to forgive those that are genuine. One of the most difficult things to do in these forums is to admit that you've made a mistake. Often, admitting a mistake is like blood in the water and the sharks are quick to take advantage. Such has been the case with me multiple times. I'm not bothered by that either. The silent reader, the lurker, can see what is happening clearly enough and can discern who has integrity and who does not. Before I ever posted on a forum I lurked for months. As you say, I know who I am and anyone who has read my posts over these years knows who I am. Good or ill, I give back what I am given. That attitude of standing my ground has upset friend and foe alike. Oh well...That's me.

I support you in saying that there's really no reason to be a doormat. While it might be "honorable" as you say to walk away, you don't always have to sit back and take it.
But let's not make this about other people. Let's keep this thread about you.
What was your first job position? Do you think it has an effect on who you are today?

I support you in saying that there's really no reason to be a doormat. While it might be "honorable" as you say to walk away, you don't always have to sit back and take it. But let's not make this about other people. Let's keep this thread about you. What was your first job position? Do you think it has an effect on who you are today? Man, am I glad I noticed the word 'job' before I embarrassed myself. My first real job was as a kid, I think I was in 6th grade, putting advertisers on door knobs in California. It was really hard work. I got the flyers in a strapped stack and had to fold them in a certain way and put them in plastic bags that would be put on doorknobs or left on porches. I walked around for hours door to door in the sun or rain with a huge carrying bag loaded to capacity front and back hanging over my shoulders. I seem to remember they were larger than this image I found, but more likely it just seems that way. I forget how many I had and I'm sure it varied but I think it was something like 1200. I got paid something like 6¢ per advertiser delivered. It was pretty good money back then for a kid. I wonder if they would even allow it these days. I also helped fold for a friend who had a route with the local paper. Interestingly, when I was in high school I worked for that local paper cleaning up a huge mess. A disgruntled employee had opened a valve that let ink pour into the printing room. There were several inches of gooey oily ink like an oil spill. My family still has a picture of me covered from head to toe in ink. I helped lay the piping for the brine and refurbished a skating rink and ended up working there when it opened. In high school I worked at a store that was part of a seven store chain. Within a year I was given the opportunity to work in the warehouse. Soon after, the warehouse manager left, for whatever reason, and at 18 years old I managed the warehouse. I hired the friend that I used to fold papers for. Should I mention that in addition to many staple grocery items, we also warehoused liquor and wine? We distributed groceries of every kind, cigarettes, liquor and wine and delivered dairy products and eggs from local wholesalers to all the stores. Not very impressive jobs I know. I had business cards made that said 'Work Hard ~ Play Hard' and that's how I was in my youth and into adulthood. I continued my education a few years after high school because I needed to save some money first.

I don't know the man in my avatar, I wish I did. I would love to have a conversation with him. I explained my avatar earlier in this thread HERE. I felt that the picture in context said so many things that I believe in, and even more so today, I could make a list, that I've used it as my avatar since way back when.
