I think it's better to live together first so you can see if can can actually do it.... not get married, then realize you get on each other's last nerve This. -darc

I'm amazed how many people care what their parents think...I didn't even consider their opinions before moving in with my at the time boyfriend...it was my decision and I'm an adult...My grandma didn't like what I choose to do, but now I'm getting married, my family likes my fiance, and could care less if we lived together before getting married or not.

^ I agree. To me it is really no one else's business whether or not someone lives with another person unmarried or not.

I dont feel strongly in either direction, but I think it helps you decide if you can be around each other 24-7 I agree. I really think people should do whatever feels right for their relationship. I live with my fiance and we started living together after only about a month of dating. It was the right thing for us, but not the right thing for everyone. Anyway, sometimes I try to go back to my old church and although my parents are fine with it, it's really hard to go to my old church. They like to tell me how all the horrible things that are happening in my life are because I live with a man outside of marriage. *rolls eyes* That's how you drive people out of church, not encourage them to go.

Me and my wife lived together 10 years before I asked her to merry me. My MIL hated me at first. I like to tell the about her hanging up on me. We were about 1 1/2 years living together and she was involved in a very bad car wreck. She was rushed to our local hospital where they discovered she had a broken neck. I was the first to find out and rushed to the Hospital. They were making plans to life flight her the closest major hospital.
Now you've got to picture this scene. My wife is literally strapped and taped to the bed to prevent moving. I ask her if she had contacted anyone. She says no. I check my pockets and have no change. So I grab her purse and retrieve 35cents to call her mother. I had to ask the wife for the number that's how close we were. Anyway the phone rings and the mother answers and I say this is $%#@, De$#@% Boyfriend, and I hear click followed by a dial tone...........
I'm now like great! They're saying (Doctors) choices may need to be made and I just spent the only 35 cents on me. There was no way I was going back in the room and telling my wife her mother just hung up on me. That wasn't going to happen. So I go to the ER desk and tell them I desperately need to use the phone. They let me and I recall. This time the conversation went like this:
Mother: Hello?
Me: De$%#@% has been in a car wreck and is not doing good. I need you here at the hospital.
Mother: What? How...
Me: Now!
The MIL has loved me ever since. ;D
