I think that in our society most people are more comfortable or okay with hearing that someone else is straight, but personally I don't really mind hinting at my sexuality. I don't consider myself straight per se because even though I'm staying with someone of the opposite sex, I still think that women are equally attractive. Am I going to cheat? NO. But I still don't think I can call myself straight.
At the same time I wouldn't go screaming down the street about it.

whispers i'm sure your friends adore you for speaking so kindly of them, but people falling outside the heterosexuality spectrum are not inherently nicer than heterosexuals they not a different kind breed of humans they just want to put their genitals in different places that's all and no i generally tend to avoid the subject because stereotypes piss me the **** off and it's easier not to talk about it i have a boyfriend right now but if i had a girlfriend i'd be open about it?? i just don't see the point talking about it to people who shouldn't be concerned with who i **** I agree with the points elliot made. Saying gays are the nicest doesn't make alot of sense. Sexual preference doesn't make someone nicer? I know and have met a lot of gays dudes who were generally rude to others not gay, disinterested in even getting to know me, overly flambouyant and liked to make a scene just for the sake of drawing attention. Vice versa I have met alot of gays who are really nice that I had no problem with. |

While I've been friends with plenty of people of all different orientations, I wouldn't say non-heterosexuals are automatically nicer people.
In fact, one of the worst people that I've ever heard of in my opinion is Perez Hilton. I really hate him. People get angry because Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are famous for doing nothing. Well, that's still better than being famous for bullying people by writing gossip about them like Perez Hilton is. He disgusts me.
