What happens when you click one of those instead of logging in with your user name? Do you not have to register?

Pretty sure it just links your account to a proboards app and posts everythign to facebook or twitter

No, I think it posts links and I think it asks your permission if you want to share.

you should be able to just log out, click the facebook button, then put in your user name and password

it's no different than linking twitter and facebook.
you're just allowing the sites to share info and stuff you post.

You need to give the app permission to access your data, and you need to already have a facebook account.
