1st time for me.
Put some onions on the bottom. A few cups of Dr. Pepper and a little bit of liquid smoke. Coated the roast with some "pork rub" that we had from the grocery store. I seared the outside of it on cast iron to get that yummy brown bits.
It's been cooking on "Low" for 9 hours now out of the 10hr setting. What tempt should pork be at?
Or do I just dig in with a fork and see if it separates?
(Practicing cooking random things before I try turkey next week)

I think its 145 for pork. If it has been cooking for 9 hours it should be done.

I grabbed one of those sh*tty pork crock pot mixture bags from the store, pork roast in the crock pot, empty the bag, add 2 cups water, add carrots, celery and potatoes roughly cut...let it simmer for 8hrs and holy **** was that the most tasty thing ever.
I got home last night after swimming and was starving...nommed that sh*t up. Put half the left overs in the freezer, the other half in the fridge...so tonight after I got done with my bike ride I had nearly instantaneous leftovers too.
I can't believe how good of an idea that was.

9 hours should be PLENTY dude.
Mine takes like 5 or 6.
Just see if it breaks up with the forks.
