My girlfriend likes these and I was thinking of putting one together.
It doesnt have to be the name brand. So any charms that will fit, will do.
I just need your help picking them out

Nomination ones can cost around $40 per charm.
If you buy from a jewelry store in the mall, they're $4 per charm.
If you buy on ebay, it's as low as 99 cents per charm.
Shop around.

Is the quality any different?

Yes and no.
The name brand will usually be made with real gold, and stainless steel.
The "fake" ones will look identical, be gold PLATED, will last just as long, but can get rusty if rained on

I remember when I used to love those in high school. They're a nice gift.
