Does anyone understand the concept of intellectual property?? I mean sure im all about free stuff - but if I download a few songs of a band and they're awesome I *usually* go buy the cd (and im a poor college guy). Personally I think the issue is more poignant (as far as IP goes) with software. Why have to rip off micro$oft for a sh*tty product when you can get GNU/GPL software for free (and hundreds of times better)? -DarC

i still say gettin it fo free is better. music makers get too much money The "music makers" actually don't get all that much money, if you're referring to the band. Most of the CD price goes to the big labels like MGM and Sony (there's one more big main company but the name slips my addled mind). Of course, the bigger bands that everyone hears of do make a ton of money, its the local/small bands that are getting screwed byt he company because they can't get their voice out. -DarC

Paying to download music is like voluntarily sticking your foot in a blender.

Someone registered a Napster account under an e-mail on my domain. I never gave permission for anyone to use my e-mails nor had I given an e-mail account to this person (whom I don't know). So, I have his account and password and could pay for my music with his credit card. However, I have morals and I wouldn't do such a thing.
When I download, I download very few songs. If I have a song stuck in my head or if I need the song for a presentation or something, then I'll download it. I'm not going to go spend twenty dollars for a CD I'm not going to listen to more than once. Hell, I won't pay that much for a CD I'd listen to constantly. I buy used albums or borrow them from friends. I feel bad when I steal music or software, so I tend to avoid doing so.

Are you going to let that person keep the e-mail account or would you cancel it? If you didn't give them permission to have it, they don't deserve to keep it.
