I live in FL, and my backyard is a bit of a mess. Thorny vines, tall weeds everywhere, etc. I did some "research" over a year ago, killed almost everything, but then never did anything with the lawn (like grass seed, native plants, etc.), so of course everything has sprouted back.
I need to get a weed wacker. I prefer to buy one on Amazon if there's a decent one b/c I have gift certs. to there.
Sooooo, my long rambling story short, does anyone have suggestions for what weed wacker to buy on Amazon? (or what weed wacker definitely NOT to buy) Would gas be better than electric? Thanks for any advice.

How big is your back yard?

Definitely not very huge -- typical Florida-sized lot.

gas weed whackers are way better than electric, but if you're not using it a lot in heavy overgrowth, the electric is way more convenient. Instead of having to worry about gas/starting the damn thing, you just plug in and pull the trigger.

^ electric is much simpler IF you remember to charge it and IF it has enough juice to do the entire yard
gas will be stronger and last longe

go with electric, you're not going to want to deal with a 2-stroke weed wacker unless Tampa is gonna do it for you

Just be careful if you've never done this more.
