I need to kill the moss growing in my back yard. I know bleech will kill it instantly but are there side effects to using bleech? Bleech is $1/gal and moss killers $22.
Also I read that dawn dish soap would work also.
Anyone use either of the methods?

Power washer. Be careful though, a strong enough power washer can make a mess.

I really don't want mulch, but I don't think grass would grow because of the lack of sunlight. So maybe mulch is my best bet.
Can I turn over the soil and put sod over the top?

you're still going to need beds. You cant just put grass everywhere there's dirt.
