Went to turn my car on today.. and it makes a loud grind noise, like when you turn the key while the car's running
Is this expensive?

Why would you engage the starter when the cars running. Of course it will make a grinding noise.

Depends on the car. Both parts can be expensive. What type of car?

I got a remote starter in december
and sometimes when I get in I instinctively push in the clutch which puts it in manual mode.. then I turn the key and
this has happened maybe 4 times.. enough to grind the teeth off?

Going to need your starter replaced, or repaired and then put back in.
