Alright, the girlfriend just bought a new bbq and we're looking to do gourmet burgers tomorrow night.

Salt, pepper, an egg (to keep the meat together when forming patties), Worcestershire sauce.
I don't believe in any other spices for the meat since you will add cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, dressing/mayo...

how I do it
meat minced garlic finely chopped onion worcestershire finely chopped jalapenos egg little breadcrumbs cracked black pepper tiny bit of chili powder
